Top-up training is a compulsory 2-day up-skilling training to renew your license. is changing the way that Security Guard (1 Day Course) and Door Supervisor (2 Day Course) Licenses are renewed from the 1st of October. This new Top Up Training will up-skill door supervisors to the level attained by those who took a course and qualification after 1st April 2021.
TOP-UP DOOR SUPERVISION COURSE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING UNITS:
- Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry.
- Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry.
- Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry.
- Understand counter-terrorism issues relevant to a door supervisor.
- Know the role of a door supervisor when first aid situations occur in licensed premises.
- Know how to use communication equipment relevant to a door supervisor.
- Physical Intervention concept theory how to keep venues and people safe.
- Physical Intervention practical skills are relevant to a door supervisor.
Assessment:
Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry – assessed by a practical test and a written multiple-choice examination.
Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry:
- 10 Questions, 20-minute exam paper. The pass mark required is 70%.
Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry:
- 5 Questions, 10-minute exam paper. The pass mark required is 70%.
Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry:
- 30 Questions, 45 mins exam paper. The pass mark is 80%.
